What is Asian Breeze
Asian Breeze is a multicultural showcase travel team designed to help players get noticed by professional scouts. Each spring, from late February to mid-March, we play against MiLB-affiliated teams, as well as clubs from the KBO, LMB, WBC teams, and top collegiate programs across Arizona.
Founded in 2019, the 2026 season will mark our 7th year of operations.
Our founder and CEO, Toma Irokawa, also served as the General Manager of the Ibaraki Astro Planets (a Japanese independent league team in the BC League) and holds strong connections throughout professional baseball in Asia—including NPB, KBO, CPBL, and multiple independent leagues. Our coaching staff consists of current U.S. independent league managers who are actively scouting players and have the authority to offer contracts on the spot. This is a unique and powerful tryout opportunity for players looking to break into MLB organizations, U.S. independent leagues, or professional leagues in Asia.
Opponent Clubs

2026 will be our seventh spring season. Since our launch, we’ve played 64 games against 27 different teams, including:
- 13 MLB-affiliated clubs
- 2 KBO-affiliated teams
- 2 LMB-affiliated teams
- 1 WBC team
- Various college programs and local clubs
You can check out our full 2025 schedule on our website.

Players
While our roster mainly features Japanese players (including former NPB, independent, and college players), each year we welcome standout talent from around the world—including players with MLB, Triple-A, and Double-A experience, as well as elite U.S. independent league players.
Our most notable alum to date is Trevor Bauer, former MLB Cy Young Award winner, who threw three scoreless innings for us while touching 99 mph in a 2024 game vs. Dodgers MiLB players.
